Finding your spa scent, or choosing none

A scent that one person loves may feel too strong to someone else. When looking at an aromatherapy menu, begin with your own tastes: fresh and citrusy, soft and floral, or warmer woody notes. You can also prefer no fragrance at all.

Ask to learn about the product before your session. Blend names can sound similar while containing very different ingredients. Mention any known sensitivities and ask what alternatives the spa can offer.

Try not to choose by a promise attached to a fragrance. Your enjoyment of the aroma is a worthwhile starting point on its own. A simple, familiar scent can be just as appealing as a complicated blend.
